What would it be like if a group's common thread was that they were on mission together? What would our community look like if the body of Christ was intentional in the context God had placed them (workplace, schools, neighborhoods, etc.)? Hosts are asked to gather friends/neighbors and/or Bent Tree contacts (received at the kick-off event) to facilitate a consecutive six-week
small group experience led in homes. Hosts are not required to continue leading these groups beyond the initial six week commitment.
Childcare is not available for the kick-off event, but activities will be provided for the children.
What does a host do for their group?
1. Invite your friends, neighbors, and/or Bent Tree contacts to your home for a six-week small group experience.
2. Facilitate conversation and activity ideas outlined for you by Bent Tree. Bent Tree will also provide some resources for your group.
Click here to review the Taste of Community outline.
3. Communicate with group members (once formed) regarding meeting dates, group information, prayer requests, etc.
What should I do once I feel led to host?
2. Meet with your community pastor (setup through the community department upon registration).
3. Attend a training meeting prior to the kick-off event on Sunday, October 23. Time and Date to be determined.
4. Attend the kick-off on October 23 at 12:30 pm (only if you need more group members).
5. Follow-up with your group members to confirm meeting time and location and send directions.
What do I do at the end of six weeks?
At the end of the six-week group you may choose to:
1. Stay together as a group.
2. Join a different group.
3. Merge with another TOC group.
4. If you are in a LifeGroup, you may choose to take your participants back to your group.
5. Go back to your LifeGroup (if applicable).
