What is establishing?

Establishing is defined in this way: Intentionally investing a period of time in someone's life for the purpose of acquainting them with the basics of their faith and challenging them to, in turn, establish someone else. Establishing is different from discipleship in that it's not necessarily a long-term relationship. It can turn into one, but is not the expectation.

Why is establishing important?

We would never build a house without load-bearing walls. It simply could not stand. The same is true with our spiritual lives. Being established in Christ strengthens us spiritually and provides a much-needed infrastructure of truth and grace on which the rest of our growth depends.

When is establishing necessary?

Establishing is for anyone who has received Christ for salvation and has not had the opportunity to work through the basics of life in Christ with another believer.

How do you establish someone?

An easy way to establish is to simply talk through the guide together! Take turns reading the lesson you're working through with your establishing partner. As you read, you can fill in the answers together. Another approach is to answer the questions separately before you meet. When you get together, you can discuss what you have discovered. You'll find that conversation naturally emerges.

Establishing is not difficult. It is simply making an existing relationship that you have with another believer more intentional. You don't need specialized training. Work through this guide with a friend and then you'll be ready to help someone else.

The Multiplication Process

Once you have been established, it is your turn to establish someone else in their faith. Prayerfully consider someone for this. It could be someone in your LifeGroup, Bible study, your neighbor or someone in PTA. Listen to what God is telling you and continue the process. The establishing process is ongoing.

How do I get an Established in Christ book?

Click here to send a request to purchase books. They can either be picked up at the church during the week, or you can also purchase them in The Crossing on Sundays. If you choose to purchase on Sunday, there is no need to send a request to the church office. Cost is $5/book.
