McWhorter Gives Back

When students attend McWhorter Elementary School in Carrollton, they get an education. This spring, they gave one.
Two second-grade classes mentored by Timothy Smith, who attends Bent Tree Bible Fellowship when he is not on the road as a truck driver, collected coins to buy school supplies for students in Uganda. Smith and other members of Bent Tree’s Uganda 1 team delivered the purchased supplies — and a carload of other materials donated by the school — during their mission trip in May. more

We’re launching a new weekly gathering beginning on September 9 at 7:00 pm in the Treehouse at Bent Tree. Our band will be leading worship, and we’ll begin our Love Lockdown series where we’ll learn about God’s heart for a harlot as demonstrated in the book of Hosea. more
COUPLES Foundations of Marriage
Planning a wedding? Let us help you plan your marriage! Our nine-week marriage preparation class helps couples prepare for the exciting journey of marriage. This class has two components: teaching and mentoring. It is open to any couple considering marriage. The class will be on Sundays at 9:00 am from September 12 - November 7. more
LOCAL OUTREACH Mentor a Student
There are 31 Title I schools in Carrollton/Farmers Branch ISD alone. That means that 40% or more of the students attending these schools qualify for the free and reduced lunch program during the school year. Many of these students have behavioral issues because of their home lives. You can make a difference in the life of a child by building a one-on-one relationship with them, challenging them to discover what God made them to do, and we’re only asking for one hour a week. more

Enter into a community setting and deepen the foundations of your faith. On Wednesday nights, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, meet for dinner (provided) at the home of Sheryl Belson, and then join the classroom via an online video link followed by our small group discussion. The material (provided by Reclaiming the Mind Ministries) focuses on discipling the believer in both Orthodoxy (correct thought) and Orthopraxy (correct action). The 10-week program will start September 15 and end just before Thanksgiving. The registration cost of $35 covers both the meal and the workbook.
